From Senior Systems Engineer to Independent Consultancy

Liam Hughes is the founder of Infinicore Systems (Pvt) Ltd, a Harare-based IT consultancy specialising in mission-critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, and managed services for Africa's financial sector. With more than 20 years of experience spanning Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ghana, Zambia, Kenya, and Tanzania, Liam has led national banking infrastructure projects, deployed payment infrastructure for financial institutions across the continent, and architected high-availability systems that underpin financial inclusion.

Prior to founding Infinicore, Liam served as Head of ICT at ZSS Shared Services — a FinTech shared services platform bridging legacy and digital banking — and spent nine years at EFT Corporation as Senior Systems Administrator, where he deployed PCI-DSS compliant payment infrastructure environments across five African countries, achieved PCI-DSS and PCI-PIN certification in Zimbabwe, and designed highly available POS, IPOS, and MPOS architectures on Verifone terminals.

Earlier in his career, Liam spent a decade as IT Technical Engineer at Nando's UK & Ireland, managing multi-site infrastructure, disaster recovery, and new site provisioning across the UK. Infinicore was founded to bring that same enterprise-grade discipline to financial institutions that cannot afford to compromise on infrastructure quality.

How We Approach Every Engagement

Integrity

We operate with full transparency — no vendor kickbacks influence our architecture recommendations. The right solution is the one that best serves your infrastructure.

Technical Excellence

Every design decision is grounded in engineering principles. We build to financial-sector standards because we were trained by financial-sector requirements.

Innovation

The Infini ecosystem is the result of years of observing what enterprise monitoring and compliance tooling fails to deliver. We build what the market lacks.

Resilience

Infrastructure resilience is non-negotiable in financial services. We design for failure — active-active clusters, fault-tolerant hardware, and rehearsed failover procedures.
